“Wit You Today” has a romantic sensibility for Julian’O offers up just the right amount of vulnerability in the scope. The production positively shines. Melodies have a sweetness to them. Beats are stripped back to their absolute essence. Everything here has a tactile quality too. He retains an acute balance to it. At certain moments it is as if he’s making origami, allowing the sparse yet physical layers to get folded into each other. Verses here reflect upon a domestic mood, right down to the playful way that he comments on cooking, on going to the store, and there’s something quite beautiful to it.

Glimmering keys introduce the work. A groove immediately comes into the fray, and it has a lightness, reflecting on that delicate melody. The beats hit with a nice emotional cadence to it. The bass here has a silky essence to it, crafted to perfection. He has an excellent sense of humor to his flow, for he keeps things relatively laid back in the best way possible. Everything here swirls about in this sense of pure peace. For the final stretch, his voice drops out, revealing in the quiet, hushed awe that closes it all up as there’s an unspoken reflection on all that just passed by.
