Single Review: Ariel Bellvalaire shares deeply meaningful new single ‘Satellite’

As a maximalist pop-rock artist and born showstopper, Ariel Bellvalaire is no stranger to being in the spotlight. But her latest anthem ‘Satellite’ offers a beautiful, timely look at how fame can sometimes feel claustrophobic

Ariel Bellvalaire has shared her latest single ‘Satellite’, as she continues to build expectations for her debut album release.

Born in Connecticut, Ariel has emerged as a serious talent lately, having spent several formative years working on her career in LA and several other formative years touring across the globe with different bands and musical acts.

Ariel is noted for being one of America’s most impressive guitarists, having honed her skills from a young age while also developing a parallel career as a gravity-defying aerial gymnast (hence the incredible photos).

In the years since she first landed on the music scene, Aerial has performed on Broadway, and been the face and musical centerpiece of numerous national ad campaigns (thanks to her guitar abilities and innate star quality). She has also toured worldwide as a guitarist for the likes of Debbie Gibson and the ‘Drag The Musical’ crew.

At the same time, Ariel has become an online sensation. She has gained a considerable social media following on Instagram and TikTok over the years. This is thanks to instantly viral clips of her posting her original music, offering inventive covers of pop songs, shredding live in front of enthralled audiences, or performing actual, real-life acrobatics while playing music (yep, a brief look at the music video for her 2020 single ‘Elastic’ shows that she does that too).

Ariel has released several of her original songs, all of which have brought legions of new fans into her ranks and showcased her acclaimed songwriting abilities. She has been compared to Lady Gaga by Van Halen, but her artistry almost transcends these comparisons. Ariel is one of the few artists out there who could find the conceptual room for a vicious guitar solo in the midst of a synthy 3-minute pop song – and this is exactly why people love her.

Ariel’s latest single, ‘Satellites’ was officially released in late April. The song is both an infectious pop number and a thought-provoking look at pop stardom itself. In her typically maximalist, guitar-wielding style, Ariel sings about social media perceptions and trying to hold onto your own identity in the midst of people who can’t help seeing your life as a spectacle: “They want to see me ignite/And turn the silence to screams again/Give an inch, they take a mile.”  The message is incredibly important, while Ariel’s vocal delivery and the instrumentation add to the vitality of the song.

The new single comes as Ariel continues to lay plans for the future release of her debut album. She is also set to release her third single of 2024, titled ‘Sharks In The Water’ in mid-May.

‘Satellite’ is out now across all streaming platforms, while ‘Sharks In The Water’ will be released on May 17. Ariel also has a new EP, which is currently streaming exclusively on her website.
